APPLICATION

For creating expansion joints in facade insulation systems.

CHARACTERISTICS

PROPERTIES

  • Fills the expansion joint, preventing water infiltration beneath the facade
  • Reduces stresses within the facade
  • Ensures a clean, straight, and uniform aesthetic finish of the joint edges

INSTALLATION

The BP16 V-type profile consists of:

  • a PVC angle and base plate with reinforcement
  • a flexible PVC membrane for expansion
  • fiberglass mesh

Application:

  1. Place the membrane in the expansion joint, leaving approximately 5 mm between the angle and the base plate.
  2. Glue the profile to the edges of the insulation (polystyrene or mineral wool), positioning the angle and the base plate correctly.
  3. Cover with the façade mesh with an overlap, embedding the integrated mesh strips of the profile into the adhesive.
  4. The bonding and overlapping should ideally be carried out in a single operation.
  5. After the adhesive has dried and the primer has been applied, the render can be applied.

Special feature::

  • The expansion membrane slightly extends beyond the end of the profile to allow a vertical overlapping “shingle-like” installation. The membrane at the lower end of the BP16 profile must overlap the membrane of the profile below it, ensuring water drainage without infiltration beneath the membrane.

Recommended use:

  • buildings with separate foundations
  • façcdes wider than 15 meters
  • areas subject to façade stress or movement
