APPLICATION

Used for the installation of the starting rail in external thermal insulation systems, for expanded polystyrene or mineral wool panels.

PROPERTIES

  • Aluminium starter profiles serve as the lower base for the proper installation of insulation boards (EPS or mineral wool) on the façade.
  • The channel-shaped profile facilitates installation by ensuring a perfectly horizontal alignment of the first row of insulation boards.
  • Their use is recommended when the insulation of the facade significantly exceeds that of the foundations, or when the height of the insulation of the base is substantial and requires an aesthetically pleasing lower finish.
  • Aluminum profiles also serve as an effective barrier against rodents, particularly in rural areas or near forests.

INSTALLATION

The aluminum starting profiles are fixed to the wall using steel screws.

They must be installed level and on the same plane, which is facilitated by the use of Bella Plast mounting wedges:

  • BPD3 (3 mm)
  • BPD5 (5 mm)
  • BPD10 (10 mm)

It is recommended to use aluminum profiles in combination with the PVC drip profile with BP14 LUX COK mesh. The fiberglass mesh of the BP14 LUX COK profile should be covered by the facade reinforcement mesh, with an overlap at the top, ideally in a single gluing operation.

The width of the aluminum starter profile must correspond to the thickness of the insulation.

  • For example: for EPS or mineral wool panels of 150 mm, the BP30 150 mm L250 profile should be used.

Aluminum profiles are available in standard thickness of 0.5 mm.

Upon request, they can be supplied in thicknesses of 0.6 mm or 0.8 mm.
